Christmas jumpers have been worn, Christmas crafts have been done, decorations are up………it’s party time!!! The children took part in lots of practice in preparation for their Christmas performance. The week before the end of term they visited the ‘Wednesday Club’ at the cricket pavilion and sang their play songs for the group and everyone seemed to really enjoy the experience. On the last day of term all the children arrived and were helped into their outfits by the adult elves! Once in position the parents/carers were invited in to watch the little angels perform their play ‘ That’s what Santa forgot!’ The children sang nicely and stayed in position until it was their turn to move around the stage, ‘helped’ by the adult elves!! The parents clapped and cheered on the reindeer, elves, angels, shepherds, sheep, wisemen, Mary, Joseph, Christmas tree, Santa Claus and Mrs Claus throughout the performance which was fantastic. After the bows and photo calls the entertainment began with Tidimix from perfectpartypeople.co.uk who had the children engaged and enthralled straight away. Mrs Christmas, looking much lighter than last year, also made an appearance, setting up a grotto and inviting the children to visit her! She gave them all a present and some reindeer food to put out for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. We also had a very special visit from two of Santa’s reindeer who waited outside in the garden as excited small groups of children and their parents/carers went outside to have a look. The children were invited to sit in Santa’s sleigh and have their photos taken alongside the reindeer!! After all the fun and games the children sat down for some much needed refreshments and party food. As they ate the raffle was drawn and lots of lovely prizes given out. Many thanks to everyone who donated and organised the draw and thank you to everyone for helping to make the day a very special one for the children.
