Well, we have come to the end of a busy and very hot and sunny term. The children have spent a lot of time outside engaging in water play, taking part in sports day, using our mud kitchen and generally having lots of fun! As well as going to watch the St Nicholas School sports day and country dancing festival, we were invited to join the reception class for a water fight which resulted in everyone, including some of the staff, soaked through to the skin. The children have got through so many sets of spare clothes this term so apologies to parents for all the extra washing!! The children have also been busy making crafts for the Tillingham Flower Show competition and for our theme ‘Under the Sea’ and created a fantastic display on our wall.
Friday 20th July was our graduation ceremony for the children leaving us. Lots of parents, grandparents and other family members turned up to watch their child get their leavers sash, PE bag and scroll before hugging each member of staff for the last time. There were a few tears from some of the adults but the children played their part well and posed nicely for their last photos. Once all the formalities were over the party started! Once again ‘Perfect Party People’ provided the entertainment for the very enthusiastic children (and adults) who had a lovely time. There were prizes to be won, magic tricks, balloon animals, bubble and snow machines, dancing and games. Once the entertainment was over and done the children sat down to some welcome refreshments and party food, provided by the parents of the leaving children. When everyone was finished there were lots of last goodbye’s and gifts given to the staff. Many thanks to everyone for their gifts and for their help to ensure it was a special day for all. Have a happy and safe summer holidays! We return to pre-school on Tuesday 4th September.
